All About Web Mail

Would you like to have web-based E-mail that you can access from a password-protected web site via any computer connected to the Internet?

Ask us to set up Webmail for you. It's a free option for subscribers with Monticello Pro Net or who host web sites with Kestrel Technologies, Inc.

Monticello Pro Net Webmail is similar to Yahoo mail or Hotmail without all the junk e-mail that you get when you subscribe to those "free" e-mail services.

Just e-mail info@MonticelloPro.net and request your Webmail setup at no cost to Monticello Pro Net customers or call (217) 762-3232. Then click on the Open Webmail icon above to access the web site. You will need your User ID and your password to access Webmail.

How to Use the Basic Functions of Web Mail

Checking Mail

Click on the yellow POP3 button  located at the top middle of your Web Mail screen (which is different from the POP3 Setup button).

New messages will appear bold.  Click on the Subject of the message to open it.  (If you click on the Sender, it will automatically put the message into “reply” mode and you can simultaneously read the message then type a reply.)

Starting & Sending a New Message
Click the New button  at the top left.  Fill in the To: field of the message with an appropriate e-mail address. Type your message in the body of the e-mail (big white space) underneath the Subject line.

To send a message, scroll down to the end of the note and hit the gray Send button.

Deleting or Trashing messages

Use the yellow  button to return to the Opening screen of your Web Mail where you can see the messages.
Next to each message that you want to delete, look to the right and find a tiny empty white box.  Click in the box to put a checkmark there.  Scroll a little to the right and notice at the top there’s a small white window toward the top right that says Trash. Next to that window is a gray button that says Move.  Trashing a message is a multiple-step process:

1)     Click the box to the right of the message you want to delete (trash).

2)     Make sure that Trash is showing in the small white window.

3)     Click on the Move button next to the Trash window.

4)     You have just selected and moved a message to the Trash.

5)     To get rid of messages completely, you need to the Trash by clicking on the  button.

6)     You can move multiple messages to the Trash and  them all at one time.

Address Book

Web Mail has an easy Address Book feature.  Click on the  button and you can start adding people and e-mail addresses using the form.  Fill in a Name (whatever you know a person by…Randy, Jeannie, etc. or a first & last name) and their E-mail Address.  Then click the gray Add/Modify button to the right.  Your new Address Book entry will appear in a list below.  An advanced feature of Web Mail is the ability to Import an address book from another e-mail application. We offer paid tutoring/consulting to do this.  Call 762-3232.

Starting a New E-mail Using the Address Book

If you already have an e-mail recipient logged in your Address Book, click on the  button to open the Address Book, then click the e-mail address of the person you want to write. A window will open up with your e-mail address  in the From: field and with the person’s e-mail you clicked on in the To: field.  Type your note and scroll down to Send it normally.

To View or Access Sent Messages

Go to the top left portion of your Web Mail screen and look for a white window that is defaulted to say Inbox.  Using the tiny little arrow next to it, click on the arrow to pull down a selection of boxes to view.  To look at the messages you’ve sent over Web Mail, move your cursor down to Sent and click once with the left mouse button.  You can now view your Sent messages.  To return to you Inbox, click on the arrow and move the cursor to the Inbox, click once with the left mouse button.
